We’re very proud to announce the launch our brand new Product Details Page! This update adds new functionality, increased transparency, and an overall improvement to the user experience. We’re very excited to highlight all the amazing things we worked on. Let’s jump right in!
Larger product images
We understand that when shopping for items like burs, the little details make a big difference, that’s why we’ve enlarged all our product images. Shop with confidence knowing the previously fuzzy details are now clear. We are still actively working to bring higher quality images to our Marketplace products and will update them along the way.
Sold out and discontinued products
Before we would remove products that were sold out or discontinued from the Marketplace until they were restocked. We wanted to avoid selling those products to ensure we could meet the demand. However, we’ve listened to your feedback and have adjusted our approach to these scenarios by leaving the sold out products in the Marketplace. That means they’ll still remain in your Favourites and we’ll update the status when they’re back in stock.
For discontinued products, they will still be removed from our Marketplace unless they’re saved in your Favourites. We don’t want to sell discontinued products, so we’ve restricted checkout of discontinued items, however we’re providing related products to help find a suitable replacement.
Improved promotional details
First released on the iOS app, is now available on the web. We’ve improved transparency on the promotional details to give you the full picture of what is included in the offering. Simply hover over the “details” text to read all about it.
It’s important to know whether your item will ship free or if you have the option of achieving free shipping. To no longer wonder, we’ve added the shipping information to be fully transparent and help you save money.
Sale end dates
Knowing when the product sale ends can help make that decision between buying now or buying later. We want to give you that choice by adding the sale end dates to all our promotional products.
Something we’re very excited about is introducing product variants. Having separate product cards for size, colour, and package contents can take up a lot of space in the product results, while also forcing you to click on separate products to add a different variant. This is something we want to eliminate by combining all these variants into one simple product details page. We’re slowing rolling this out and you’ll continue to see further refinements in the future.
Updated quantity dropdown
We’ve included the promotions and sales information into the quantity dropdown to further improve transparency on compounding deals. Some promotions and sales get better when purchasing in bulk, and we want to put that information forward.
Adding product specifications can make or break your decision to purchasing a product. Especially in dental, where the little details make all the difference, we want to make sure you’re purchasing the right product for your patients.
If you’re a Premium or Premium Plus member, we’ve added this feature to take out the guesswork on whether you need to restock or if you’ve got enough product to last. Combined with low stock alerts, we’ve added a visual indicator on whether or not you’re below your minimum stock level.
Product documents and videos
SDS sheets have been with products for a while now, but starting today we’ve added product documents such as brochures, pamphlets, and product videos to give you more information about specific products. Our goal is to make choosing the right product easier.
Sometimes the product you need is sold out or discontinued. To better help you find a suitable replacement, we’ve added a brand new “Related Products” section to direct you towards other products that would be a good substitution.
Over 50% of website viewing is on mobile. We want to support those using a mobile device to browse our Marketplace by making the Product Details Page completely mobile friendly. This is a huge push we’re actively making for the rest of the Marketplace and those updates will follow in the near future. We hope you’re just as excited as we are!
